Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Chisel (sole trader) ("Chisel", "we") collects when you visit this site or send us a brief, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: hello@getchiselai.com.
What we collect
- What you send in the brief form: your name, work email, a link to your tool, the plan you're interested in and any notes.
- Where you came from: when you send a brief, we also receive the ad or link that brought you here (UTM tags such as source and campaign, ad click IDs from Google, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok or LinkedIn, the referring site and the first page you landed on). This is kept in your browser until you submit the form and is only sent with it.
- Analytics and advertising data, only if you allow it (see Cookies below): pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and whether you sent a brief.
We don't ask for payment details on this site and we don't sell your data.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To answer your brief and quote for work: steps you asked us to take before a contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
- To know which ads and channels bring real enquiries (the source data sent with your brief): our legitimate interest in spending our marketing budget sensibly (art. 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time.
- Analytics and ad measurement cookies: your consent (art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
Cookies and similar tech
If you're in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, ad and analytics cookies stay off until you choose "Accept all" in the banner. Elsewhere they're on by default and you can switch them off with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page. Until you accept, Google receives only cookieless signals (Google Consent Mode) and the Meta Pixel is held back.

Who else handles it
We use a small number of providers who process data for us: our website host (Vercel), our email and lead-storage providers, Google (Analytics, Ads) and Meta (Pixel), and Instagram if you contact us there. Some are based outside your country, including in the United States; where that applies they rely on approved safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
Briefs that don't become work are deleted after 24 months. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires for invoices and contracts (usually 6 to 10 years). Analytics data follows the retention set in Google Analytics (14 months).
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@getchiselai.com and we'll reply within one month. If you're in the EU, EEA or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
Children
This site is for businesses. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
We'll update this page if anything changes and change the date at the top. The controller is Chisel (sole trader), the United Kingdom.
